Swimming in the Chaos
Just as You wanted to
Are you distracted yet? Do you have your eye on the prize? What is your “prize?” What do you intend to create or experience in your life?
There are plenty of things to distract us. There are many topics to think about. You could think of all the information that we are exposed to, day in and day out, as a form of chaos. At least when we think about the media, online social and even the spam we get in our emails. Lots of “noise” to keep us distracted.
If you think about the instantaneous manifestation of intentions, this is the realm of the alchemist, mystic or savior. Jesus, as we are told, healed folks in the moment. No follow-up appointments. Poof! done. All manner of miracles all done in the moment. Poof! done. The instantaneous fulfillment of desires or intentions. Poof! done.
Our thoughts create. If you want to know what your own thoughts have created, just look at your life. Look at your attitudes, beliefs and expectations. Look at how you are experiencing your life right now. Is life hard? Is life easy? We all live in the same soup of consciousness. We, as humanity, form a sea of sorts. A sea of consciousness. Although that sea of consciousness seems like a karmic tsunami, nevertheless the sage rises in it and others are drowning in the same environment. It is not the environment that decides who you are or who you will become. It is your own self-mastery that will decide who you will become. Do you have your eye on your own “prize” of sorts? That place, accomplishment or situation you want to create for yourself. You can do it.
You, as a soul, chose to come here now. Your soul chose this environment for you to be born into. Your soul knew it would be like this. And chose it anyway. Not that it would be easy. You already had many lifetimes like that in your past. Because it would be a great challenge. Perhaps your ego isn’t too excited about all that is happening. Perhaps you just don’t know who to trust anymore. Perhaps the world outside of you seems like it is going down the drain. Perfect. Your soul knew it would be hard. Challenging. Perhaps very challenging. And your soul chose it anyway. After all, here you are.
The challenge to deal with the world on the outside, is really a challenge to master what is going on in your insides. You do have the power to navigate this life in any fashion that you can show up for yourself. I know it would seem a lot easier if you too could have the Poof! done way of making changing things in your life. And you will return to that. But as a soul, you and all the other souls chose to load our psyches up with karma. We chose to go into the darkness. We chose to set sail in the metaphorical sea of karmic chaos that this world is generating. Perfect. Just as You wanted it. As a soul, you wanted a big challenge. And here you are living in that very challenge.
You get more of what you focus on. Whatever you put your attention on expands its presence in your life. Are you focused on your “prize?” Do you have a clear idea of what you intend to create in this life of yours? Have you spent time focusing (your consciousness) on what you prefer? Or are you distracted? Part of the challenge, in these challenging times, is to be able to maintain your focus and intentions all while living in the karmic storm. It will be able to direct and focus where you are putting your attention. This is where meditation can be so powerful in your life. How much of your thoughts serve you? And how much of your day-to-day thoughts are caught up in one distraction or another?
Often we are not aware of the thoughts that don’t serve us. Since our thoughts create, those thoughts that don’t serve us create as well. If you spend an hour or so, getting laser focused on what you want to create, and then go get online and surf the web for a few hours, getting triggered by this and that, well, you have just diluted the power of your consciousness. It takes discipline to live in chaos, and yet maintain the focus on what you prefer. To become more aware about how you spend your time. How you spend your consciousness, is a great first step in creating the life you prefer. Meditation can bring the subconscious thoughts to the surface. Our subconscious thoughts can be a big reason why it seems like our thoughts are not that powerful. Yet, Jesus showed us the Poof! done rate of thinking and its instant effects. He also said, we will (eventually) do everything he has done … and more.
There is a definition of faith, I am not sure where I heard it first, but it goes like this. Faith is having no thoughts contrary. No thoughts that are not what you intend. No thoughts that are contradictory to what you intend. We are in a classroom of sorts. Trying to learn how to harness all of our thoughts, and get them all to walk in step with what we would prefer. How can you corral your thoughts if you are not aware of a lot of them? That is why meditation is so powerful. If you can gain control of who you really are, then there is nothing out of your reach.
