Cleaning Your Karmic Lens
What can you see happening for yourself?
You have quite a bit of history in this lifetime of yours. The “world” you live in is something you are very familiar with. At least, as seen through your karmic lens. In other words, you have lived a life path that you have become very comfortable with. So, could we say, you know how the “world” works?
What you have experienced, all throughout your life, is a reflection of you. It is not a static thing. Or maybe the better way to say it is that You are not a static thing. Even though you might have lived your life, up to now, having a consistent and perhaps predictable life experience, that does not mean that you are stuck in how you experience your life.
Generally, we all have our own karmic imprinting or karmic programming of sorts. Is the world safe? Or is it dangerous? Is life easy, or is it hard? Can people be trusted, or not so much? However you have answered these questions is not a reflection of the “world” as a whole, but rather, a reflection of You. At least, you up to this moment. But You can change that. You can change how you experience your own life. It is done unto You as You believe. Change You, and you will change your experience.
There is, from my perspective and experience, a karmic lens of sorts that we “see” the world through. Gone unchecked, we can click off decades of our life, without much change in how we experience our life. But if we do the work, and change who we are on the inside, we can certainly change how we are experiencing the world outside of us. There is a karmic momentum that we build up over time. We do this with our thoughts, beliefs, attitudes, expectations and emotions. Our mind, as our thoughts, beliefs, attitudes and expectations, can create a consistency in how we interpret our life experiences. Yet, all of that has been programmed into us, by us, as we live our lives out.
If you were raised in a completely different environment, your experience of life would be completely different. In other words, how you have programmed your sense of “reality” is a direst reflection of your karmic programming. If you could imagine being mistakenly swapped at birth, and you were raised in generally the opposite mindset, your experience of life would be completely different than how you are experiencing it now. What I am getting at here, is that how you experience your life is completely programmable. To tend to your programming, is to shape or sculpt how you are experiencing your life.
If I think about the first few decades of my life, and compare it to the last decade of my life, I can certainly see a very big change in how I see my life. The first few decades of my life, I would say that my mindset would be based on life was happening to me. The angry boss, the difficult relationships, etc. were thought to be outside influences happening to me. But all of that is gone now. I can see that those aspects of my life were a reflection of unresolved karmic energy within me. Once I got cracked open, so to speak, I started a really deep dive into me. Once I healed my relationship to emotions I was originally avoiding, my relationships changed. I had been posturing with my relationships externally, to avoid suppressed emotions internally.
In general, we tend to not pay attention to our inner landscape. And we try to manage or manipulate the world outside of us to keep ourselves in some kind of preferred experiences. Our egos trying to arrange our life outside of us, to maintain a “manageable” sense of comfort within ourselves. It would serve us very well, in my opinion, for us to shift our ongoing attention to our own karmic accumulations. Those aspects of ourselves that we have “built up” within us over the years. Thoughts, beliefs, attitudes and expectations that we have accumulated over our lives. All based on our current karmic demeanor. Whereas if we focus on and change/heal the karmic imprinting within us, then we are literally changing how we experience the world outside of us. To change how you are experiencing the world outside of you, change who you are on the inside. It all, really, is an inside job.
