What Can You Imagine For Yourself?
If you don’t believe it you will probably not see it.
What do you believe is possible for your life?
What?
Could you be an … artist? Mountain climber? Welder? Healer? Author? Singer? Midwife? World traveler? Foster parent? Farmer? Cook? Race car driver? Etc.
I am not suggesting you do something just to be busy. Or that you “need” to do it. It is always your call. I do think that we tend to settle in to a complacency or “normal” behavior. There are no requirements. You have free will.
But then, your soul probably has a few hundred possibilities for your life. Most of which you might not ever consider. We tend to think in a linear fashion. Like a road map and a destination. We will go here, then we will go here, and then we will arrive. Linear thinking for our linear minds. But our soul is a vast non-linear intelligence. Your soul has an intention for your life. Complete with soul contracts and arranged possibilities. Possibilities. Not probabilities … unless we can believe it all. It is done unto you as you believe.
I find it very curious that our mind, our ego, can discount most anything it wants to. Nothing happens until we make up our minds. Until our minds can’t make themselves up. In other words, if we get consumed by our mind, living our life solely in the fast brain, we can ignore the prodding of our heart and soul. If we ignore our inner guidance long enough, the universe gets out the cosmic two-by-four. A metaphor where our soul tries to wake us up from our mental neurosis. Where we might get into an accident, or lose our job, or get a dis-ease, or have a near-death experience. These things are actually an alarm clock of sorts. Events intended to wake ourselves up. Out of our mental coma of sorts.
You can wake yourself up too. You don’t have to wait for some profound event to come along. There are several things you can do to open up your own possibilities. To open up your probabilities. It stems from giving your heart and soul a voice. A place at the metaphorical table. A say in what does, or does not, happen in your day-to-day life.
A simple thing you can do is get “post it” notes. Those small pads of paper. Place them around your house and car. Keep a pen handy too. You will typically be doing something. Unloading the groceries from the car or doing the dishes. And a single thought will pop into your head. “Go back to school.” “Take music lessons.” “Buy a welder.” “Learn how to sew.” Or whatever. Stop what you are doing and write down the inspiration verbatim. Write it down exactly how you heard it. Now it is ink on paper. Had you not written it down, your mind would judge the hell out of it and you would probably drown it out with all your other thoughts. But if you can get the thought on paper, it will still be there tomorrow.
Over time, as you capture the IN-spiration of your heart and soul, you have now given a voice to your inner wisdom. A voice that previously had to compete with the thousands of thoughts your mind was planning on having each and every day. Know that your inner wisdom already knows all about your life. How much time and money you have. In other words, your ego doesn’t need to vet the inspiration. Your heart and soul know you better than you know yourself. You do have to have some prudence. If you get the idea that you will be living in New York City doing something exciting, that doesn’t mean quit your job tomorrow. You might be shown a possibility for your life many years into the future. Do take care of yourself. Keep a roof over your head and food on the table.
Another thing you can do is to get out of your comfort zone(s). Sometimes we sit on our inspiration. We avoid engaging it. We can’t see ourselves changing that much. If you get the inspiration to be a writer … write. Write a blog or submit articles you come up with to e-magazines. Write just to write. Push through the hesitation your mind might have. If there is no movement towards fulfilling your inspiration, you can’t get (more) intuitive about it. In other words, if you just live in your head, and don’t actually take steps in the direction you have been inspired to go, you won’t get any new information. Action brings experience. Experience affords new understandings. New growth. It provides an opportunity to become more intuitive as well. Keep taking steps and you will evolve yourself. Change can be just the thing to bring a new spring to your step.
One more thing. Input. Expand your input. You don’t (really) know what you would like unless you try it. Would you enjoy writing? Welding? Singing? Etc. There are still bookstores that have magazine racks. Take a stroll through all the genres and topics the magazines cover. Cooking, travel, woodworking, photography and such. Likewise there are online groups or meetups that also offer new input for yourself. Pay attention for new opportunities for yourself. Keep a watch for new possibilities your heart and soul might guide you to. Open yourself up as to who you might become. Your age is none of your business. Your soul can see many different possibilities that you would enjoy. If you believe.
Love You
