Nobody but You
It is all created by You
There is a choice that we can make, but for so many, that choice isn’t “available.” For so many people, they tend to live much of their life in a perpetual state of re-acting. Instead of constantly re-acting in the very same way over and over, we can make a new choice and thus a new outcome. But only if we are aware that the choice exists.
Reactive patterns tend to base themselves on our emotions. And yet, it is not the emotions themselves that “cause” the re-action. It is the mind. It is a kind of patterning that is often “programmed” into us by our family of origin. In other words, when we are literally creating our ego, growing up as a child, there would be common emotions that perhaps the whole family would posture with. And as a child, we would copy the behavior demonstrated to us by the family members. Fast forward years and even decades, and unless we have “done our inner work,” we can still be living in core reactive patterns.
When you always re-act the same way, you always create the same re-sults.
Likewise, we can be stuck in reactive patterns that are all based on longstanding mental attitudes. “I don’t like to get myself dirty.” “I always want everything in its place.” “I always want to be known as having my life/act together.”
Whether it is based on our mental posturing with our emotions, or perhaps from ingrained mental attitudes and patterning in our behavior, these traits can keep us entrenched in a narrow corridor of living.
It is the very nature of consciousness to seek e-x-p-a-n-s-i-o-n. Love also expands as you “spend it.” Perhaps it is a collective thing. The white picket fence idea of life. Where you are measured as “successful” by your house, car, job or any other kind of “status.”
Are you happy?
Are You?
Sometimes we end up playing it “safe,” and so we never take chances. We never task ourselves with a problem or project that will require us to grow … a lot. We talk ourselves out of it. It is too far out of our comfort zone. These types of attitudes keep so much potential, potential that we all have, from ever being brought to life or fulfilled. If you never even try, perhaps that is the worst kind of failure. To not even try.
There is a joy that happens when we accomplish something that was difficult. Where it challenged us to grow. But if we never engage such opportunities, we will never feel those wonder-full feelings.
You. Nobody but You can decide how your life will unfold. Even if you have given your power away, you made a choice on some level to give your power away. You can always get your power back. You can always become more conscious of your choices. You can become more conscious of your mental and emotional patterning. This is always rewarding work to do on yourself. It can open up so many more possibilities for your life. Your heart and soul know of many, many possibilities of who you might become. But if you can break the patterned cycles of re-actions … well then, it is unlikely those possibilities will ever see the light of day.
Watch yourself, and how you feel, as you go about your day. Try to notice when you are operating from an entrenched pattern, and when you truly are open to new possibilities.
Oh and … EnJoy the journey!
Love You!
