What is Your Karmic Momentum?

Karma itself is impersonal

So, what does momentum have to do with karma?

Easy. Just try to make a significant change in your life. Writing this, I just now realized, that what I am really talking about is inertia. What’s the difference? Mass. The difference is mass. Imagine you are driving down a steep and winding mountain road. Lots of tight corners. Now imagine that with two different vehicles. These vehicles represent a difference in mass or weight. If you are on a motorcycle, that steep mountain road could be so much fun. Easily maneuverable. Great cornering. Made for it, really.  Now imagine driving that same steep mountain road in a fully loaded cement truck. Not made to take corners very well. Especially at higher speeds. Driving something like that, down the same mountain road, would be dangerous and difficult. If you made it at all.

You could use a fast, agile jet-ski vs. a fully loaded massive cargo ship as an example. The jet-ski could turn on a dime and the cargo ship might need a quarter mile to turn around and maybe an hour to do it. The amount of momentum decides the effect.

It is the inertia between these examples as the point. If you have a lot of mass, more speed makes things difficult to change.

From my model rocket days … we had a saying about model rocket designs.

Low Mass … Haul Ass.

So how does this relate to your karma? If you have a lot of karmic mass, and thus inertia, it would be difficult for you to make lasting changes.

Working in Television, I remember shows that taught me a lot. One such show was about lottery winners. The show investigated 10 lottery winners. All of them had won a lot of money. Much more that their original financial condition. What the show showed us, was that over time, 9 out of the 10 folks went back to their previous fiscal condition. In other words, they spent all their winnings and were right back to their previous lifestyle. Their karmic momentum was difficult to change. In other words, a lot of their personal karmic disposition or demeanor was based around their previous lifestyle, and they couldn’t make the turn or change in direction.

When we go about wanting change, whether or not we can make that change lasting is based on our own karmic momentum. Perhaps you want a more loving relationship. You want a change in the karma you are experiencing. How easy, or difficult, would it be for you to change? You can’t be (fully) loving if you are harboring blame, victim mentality, anger, deceit, shame, or guilt or such. The volume of these things is what determines your karmic momentum. In other words, how you have loaded up your psyche with karma will decide how easy or difficult it is for you to make lasting changes in your life.

I will take this a little deeper. Energy. Inner-chi. There is a volume of energy behind your karma. Every single element of karma that you hold within your psyche has an energetic element to it. The universe itself is an impersonal experience. It is the quantum mirror that decides how you experience your own life. What you experience as your life, is created by your reflection itself. To change the composition of your karmic energy, is to change your karmic reflection or experience of your life. Nothing could be more impersonal, than perhaps a mirror. Try to offend a mirror with an image for it to reflect. No luck, eh? Yea, the universe is very similar to that. Your karma is what creates your reflection. The karma you are experiencing has been accumulated over your life. Over your lifetimes, really. And all of those karmic experiences have brought you to your present-day karma. Your present-day experience of “life.”

If you have a lot of karma, you have a lot of karmic momentum. Just like those folks that won the lottery. Just because they came into a lot of money, their karma, and thus karmic reflection, couldn’t change enough to sustain it over time.

I find it curious that my soul put me in a very high-energy vocation. Managing million-watt television transmitters. The high power I created to broadcast the television signal was something I couldn’t see. I had to make a mental model in my mind about what power was. And now I am writing about energy and power as a karmic condition.

So, how karmically agile are you? Want to change that? Change your karmic energy (inner-chi). Offload that which doesn’t serve you.

Love You
