From the Dark, into the Light Reclaiming Your Consciousness When we think of our spiritual journey (back) to enlightenment, it is actually a return to wholeness. Where we connect with energetic elements of energy within our subconscious, feel it, and thus release it. But often, this is the last thing we want to do, at an ego level. Our ego oftentimes prefers to avoid the difficult feelings within ourself. That avoidance tends to promote the accumulation of even more karma into our subconscious. Thus pushing us deeper into the shadow side of being human. We lose our consciousness when we posture or divide ourself. It isn’t that we actually lose our consciousness, per se, but rather, we separate it by pushing it into our subconscious. Thus creating, or adding to, our shadow. In other words, whenever we avoid a feeling, by posturing with it, we are creating karma. If you…
Little You. BIG You. Who are You? Did you ever shuffle your feet across the carpet to build up a static charge, and then touch the light switch to watch the little spark? Before you started shuffling your feet, you didn’t have a charge. Before you were born, you didn’t have an ego. Who is this “You”? Who is this you, reading this sentence? Who? You did have a soul, the day you were born. Before you were born, your soul took great effort to choose who “you” would be. Or perhaps could be. At least the environment for the new “you” to be created in. And then you were born. A bit of the “roll the dice” vibe here. Because once your ego was up and running, several years into your life, a new “wild card” was introduced into your narrative, or trajectory. That wild card was your ego.…
Paint the Picture You Desire As You Wish There is a momentum of sorts. Living this human experience. We are all having a “normal” experience. Today might seem very familiar. Perhaps just like yesterday. It is at least normal to us. Yet, your normal day and my normal day can be completely different. We are all having our own unique experience(s) of life. Sure, there is a common set of experiences. Laughter is an example of similar experiences. Yet, the Guru and the Maniac live in the “same” world. What are your experiences of your life? Are there repetitive experiences that you don’t like? Perhaps you butt heads with someone at work. Or perhaps you and your spouse spar it out often. Arguing over this or that. Something you might not prefer. Or there is the notion of avoidance. You avoid the butthead at work or avoid arguments with your…
Feel the Rain From a drizzle to a downpour Have you ever been caught in the rain? I mean really drenched? Oh what a feeling! Have you ever been devastated by your emotions and feelings? Brought to your knees? Wiped out? If you don’t feel your feelings, when they are (rather) mild, like a drizzle, you will feel them later like a torrential downpour. We get ourselves stuck with our feelings and emotions when we start to posture with them. When we start to suppress them. When we start to avoid them. But perhaps the biggest karmic influence our emotions can have, is when we don’t even know the (subconscious) posture we have with them. Then we tend to accumulate more and more karmic energy within us. We tend to collapse our lives into deeper and deeper troughs of preferences. Avoiding whole arenas of options, choices, and thus outcomes. Collapsing…
Moving through Your Karma Karma, like gravity, is impersonal Karma is a curious thing. If we were to try to pin down just what karma is, we might take a look at the mind/ego, and its relationship with emotions. Certainly this is not the totality of how we experience karma, but I would say this is the lion’s share. So many people go through their life and never consider what they are doing, karmically. We can take on habits, often at a very early age, that sets us up for accumulating more and more karma as we go through our life. Patterns that we often pick up from our parents. For myself, I had a very strong habit of avoiding the emotion of anger. So I would subconsciously avoid it at all cost. I believe my health would be considerably worse had I not connected with my subconscious anger, and…
Lions, Tigers and Fears Oh My! There is a pattern that we can fall into, if we are not careful. Many people really live there. In a patterned mindset. What I am talking about is “out there” versus “in here.” Our egos process information. Our eyes, ears and other senses feed us an endless stream of information about the world … out there. And then we process that information … in here. In our heads. In our thoughts. Information. But the folly of that is that the world doesn’t begin out there. We are the creators of our “reality.” We are the creators of our reflection(s). What we put out … becomes the “out” there. As I shared in a previous blog, I had an angry boss “out there.” Out in the physical world. I didn’t create him, per se. But I did manifest him into my life. Into my…
Your Free-Will will always approve Your request. What shall it be? You are never stuck. It, perhaps, is just the opposite. Not that you are stuck, but perhaps you just don’t know. Not knowing all of the things you could choose. We tend to stop dreaming when we have difficulty manifesting what we would prefer. Karmic momentum has a way of shutting us down. Not forever, but long enough for us to become complacent with where we are. Complacent with our life condition. It is totally understandable. I mean, how many of us have had, perhaps, daily affirmations, and here we are months, years, or even decades later, with no significant changes towards the intent of our affirmations coming into fruition. Karma can sure be a bitch. It is not personal, mind you. Karma, that is. Your karma is made up of … well … You. Karma, as an energy,…
Maybe it is You Who is behind it all? So, imagine you are standing in front of a mirror. Perhaps fresh out of bed. Morning hair and all. And as you look at your reflection in this mirror, you try to brush the hair of the reflection itself. The brush just keeps hitting the mirror. Damn it! Can’t happen. You can’t change the reflection, by trying to alter the reflection. The source of the image decides the reflection, that the mirror is reflecting. And that source is … You. It can seem that the world is happening to us. That we are the recipient of the world, and how that goes, our experience of the world, is somehow fixed. That we are at the mercy of “reality.” Or are we? I was trudging through the challenges of a malicious boss. He was constantly belittling me. It was personal with him.…
The Cloaking of our Karma Who doesn’t have karma? Anyone? I have a favor to ask. Can you please take a picture of gravity, gravity itself, and circle it in the picture? And send that to me? For that matter, add one of electricity too. The bright light that lightening makes is photons, not the electricity itself. We can’t see gravity or electricity. But we can see their effect. So then. Karma. Imagine taking a picture of a homeless vet, panhandling on the corner. Could you “see” the karma itself in the picture? Or, like the other examples, only the effect? Or the cop and the criminal, sinner or saint. You get the idea. We can’t see karma straight on. Does that, itself, have a karmic consequence? … no rabbit holes today. ;- ) So do you have karma? Can you “see” it? Feel it? Or are you not aware…
The Cadence of Your Karma Where there is motion, there is change Ka ka karma … it starts with … consciousness. Your consciousness. So how are you doing? How do you feel about your life? You situation(s)? Your karma? There is a momentum of sorts, embedded in the effect that karma has on our psyche. Where we are each having our own personal experience of karma. The mechanism or physics of karma is impersonal. Indifferent. Karma, like gravity, doesn’t really care how you experience it. But karma has a realm, or spectrum, of possibilities. Possibilities of what you might experience, as far as your own personal experience of karma. In other words, you could look laterally at other people, who are experiencing a quite different karma. Where their life, as a karmic experience, is very different from yours. When we first bump up against our karma, in a conscious way,…
Chop the Wood, Carry the Water Life after Enlightenment Are you on a spiritual journey? Are you looking to evolve your own spirituality? Which way is Heaven? There is a notion, that once you “become” enlightened, that all of your worries fade away. The journey to enlightenment is not a creation. You do not add anything to yourself to “become” enlightened. You are enlightened now. We all are. I guess it could be said that the notion of “becoming enlightened” is the idea of your ego, becoming aware of the Light that has always been inside of you at your core. Perhaps to become enlightened is to become aware. The Light is and always has been at your core. There is still the laundry to do. Enlightenment doesn’t change that. When you discover the Light at your core, there are still the daily tasks that need to be done. Chop…
