What is your Karmic Cadence? Karma, like gravity, is impersonal. In any one moment, you are either releasing karma, experiencing no change in your karma or taking on more karma. How you are changing, as it relates to how much karma you have, can be a choice. So many people don’t pay any attention to their karma. At all. There are even “spiritual teachers” that are teaching false principles that are actually increasing their followers’ karma. Anger, bad! Don’t ever show anger. Expressing anger is not spiritually correct. Yeah … right. Suppressing my anger is what kicked my karmic ass for the first decades of my life. lol Karma is very impersonal. All of reality is impersonal, really. Wait a minute, that can’t be right. Right? I suppose there are millions if not billions of folks that have a bone to pick with their karma. Perhaps so. But the mechanisms…
Is Life happening by You or to You? Karma can shift your perspective What if … you were born on the other side of the planet? In a completely different household? Who, or perhaps what, would you be now? In other words, how would your personality be different? Perhaps the polar opposite of what it is now. The “who” that you are now was all learned and/or imprinted on you. If you were to think of the metaphorical opposite of who you are now, could you become that now? For example, if you have a chronic disease now, could you become vibrant and healthy? If you are low income now, could you become high income? Can you see what I am getting at here? There is an energy to your upbringing. There is a mental construct to your mental demeanor. There is an emotional conditioning to you now. These things,…
It is Who You become as You walk Your Path Your Journey has a Purpose, and so do You Perhaps the safest place for a boat is in the harbor. But the value or reason for a boat, is lost … in the harbor. In other words, if the boat never leaves the harbor, why even have the boat. The (metaphorical) “safest” place for you to be is in your home. With the window shades pulled down and the doors all locked. But you didn’t incarnate to just be “safe.” Sure, we all want to be safe, in a general way. But we also feel more alive when we bump up against risk. “It’s only in uncertainty that we’re naked and alive.” ~ Peter Gabriel There has been so much change over the last several years. Many of us would just like the change to settle down. To get back…
Are You stuck at the Stop sign? When will you be ready to go … again? Have you ever had your life turned on its head? Where your life was turned upside down by some unexpected event? Perhaps you had someone close to you die unexpectedly. Or a tornado or such destroyed your home. But then, there is a type of trauma that can set in, when we have a very difficult circumstance to endure. My father comes to mind. To fight in a war had scarred him very deeply. And my cousin comes to mind as well. He was falsely accused of a crime, and spent over a year in a foreign jail as a foreigner. Only to be released and cleared of all charges. I know these examples cover a broad range of circumstances, but they all can metaphorically paralyze us to some degree. Where we have stopped…
Want a Fresh Start? There is no better time … Is it time for a change? Are you looking for a fresh start? There is no momentum to living. Well, yes there is. There is no momentum “out there.” In other words, the universe is not holding a scorecard with your name on it. There is no “momentum” as far as the universe is concerned. There is no “current status.” You are free. Yet we can have a very deep sense of momentum. “I have been here before, and here I am again.” Perhaps you might have said this before. Where you find yourself in the same predicament as before. “My spouse wants a divorce … again. This makes it three different spouses now that have wanted to divorce me.” “I always find myself … [insert condition here].” Is the universe the one that consistently brings me these patterns of…
Are you on the Right side of Wrong? Where has your past taken you? It can seem like we have gone through the proverbial ringer. Many of us have had a “villain” in our life. Someone who has seemingly had a quest to give us grief. It really is/was personal … or is/was it? The “villain” is perhaps one who has taken on a huge amount of karma. Perhaps your own “personal” villain(s) have much more karma in their psyche than you do. I would not be surprised if you all shared your journey with me, that you would tell me of some pretty terrible trainwrecks in your lives. I know I have had my share. Even though I have been consciously on my spiritual journey for over 25 years, I have had some pretty intense events in my life, in just the past few years. My attitude towards these…
Are you In JOY when you think about your Dreams? Let Joy be your rudder … What metaphorical “irons in the fire” do you have? What are you working towards? What are you intending to happen in your life? Les, I’m retired, I’m too busy, I can’t, I have too many demands on my life already. OK, sure. If you say so. It is not for me to judge your choices. Please do whatever you want. But you can judge your choices. Not in a critical way but rather in a bigger picture sort of way. Your Soul came here with a big picture in mind for your life. For myself, I never weighed my life against anything. And sure, that is certainly an option for us all. Live and let live. But once I got cracked open, a curious thing happened. I started getting NEW inspirations. Write a book.…
Confusion is a Normal part of Living We do not change in a flash Have you ever been confused? Not sure of what you believe? Perfect. When we go through change, with anything significant, we don’t do it in an instant. At least not when it comes to what we believe. There is a natural back and forth. Sure, you can change quickly. I want vanilla ice cream … no, wait! I want chocolate. But when we look at changing our opinions, beliefs and attitudes, as it relates to major issues, we typically go back and forth for a while. This in-be-tween state is often called confusion. If you were to change something of significance in your life, say for example, your religion, you might go back and forth for many months. The idea that confusion is a bad thing is not accurate. We do not change such things in…
I do Mind. I don’t Mind. Who is running the show? So, let me ask you a simple question. What percentage of your thoughts, that you have today, what percentage is being made by your conscious mind? And, likewise, what percentage is being made by your subconscious mind? What is that ratio? 50/50? 10/90? 90/10? Another question. If you were to look at your conscious thoughts, the ones you are consciously making, how similar are the conscious thoughts you are making today, to the conscious thoughts you made yesterday? In other words, how similar are your conscious thoughts, day to day? Another question. Is this too many questions? ;- ) The curious thing about our thoughts, both conscious and subconscious, is that they fall into quite distinct patterns. These somewhat linear troughs or ruts of sorts. These patterned paths that we “follow” day in and day out. This is what…
The Choice is always Yours You are never stuck So … what do you want? What, in your life, do you want more of? What do you want less of? Or, perhaps, have you stopped deciding? We have certainly been through a lot of change(s). The past few years have given us all a lot to think about. Things are just not the same. To take the time, and think about what would make our life more enjoyable for us, is to hone what our life looks like. There has been so much change lately, that for many of us, we have not focused on what we really would prefer in our life. For many, their life gets more and more “normal” or perhaps familiar. Which can have us settle into a routine. We settle in, so to speak, to a daily pattern of repetition. But the very nature of…
God will not fix your problems Not without You God is so very powerful. Right? And God has unconditional Love for us. Yet we can pray for God to help us and it seems like nothing is really happening. How many times, as a child, did you pray to God for that bicycle for your birthday? Only to not get it. Do you think, as a child, you lost faith in God? Did you think, as a child, that God really didn’t love you? Do you think, as you were growing up, that you ever got angry at God? Come on God, I have prayed and prayed, and you just don’t listen. Would you take a child out of kindergarten and give them a Ph.D? Would you take a pre-med student and have them perform brain surgery? It is the journey, and the things we learn along the way, that…
