To find the Calm within the Storm This too … will pass We are in the middle of big shifts happening on the planet. Tossing many of us into emotional turmoil. And for many, they would prefer not feeling such emotional challenges. If we are not willing to “go there,” to go into the emotions that are being upset within ourselves, we can feel like we are constantly challenged by all the changes going on. In other words, it can feel very taxing to have so many emotions flair up within us, when we might prefer to avoid it all. Emotions are a roadblock for many. Those who are on their spiritual journey often stop making progress when they bump up against their more challenging emotions. Where the calmness is preferred. Or a striving to create a feeling of calmness within the tsunami of change that is happening in the…

From the Inside Out Karma is always an inside job Have you ever learned something that totally changed how you experience your life? Or perhaps how you approach your “problems” or “lessons?” I am learning just how fortunate I was when my life changed forever. It took me several decades to pick it apart. Picking apart what had happened when my life changed so much. The unraveling of myself, really. I mean, I am still finding a deeper understanding of what that change was that I went through. I have shared many times how the unexpected sudden release of emotions from my psyche was a big turning point in my life. There is no way I would have found it on my own. Not at the level that I did. I never would have known just how much of my life was on a sort of autopilot. Where my ego/mind…

What is your Karmic Cadence? Karma, like gravity, is impersonal. In any one moment, you are either releasing karma, experiencing no change in your karma or taking on more karma. How you are changing, as it relates to how much karma you have, can be a choice. So many people don’t pay any attention to their karma. At all. There are even “spiritual teachers” that are teaching false principles that are actually increasing their followers’ karma. Anger, bad! Don’t ever show anger. Expressing anger is not spiritually correct. Yeah … right. Suppressing my anger is what kicked my karmic ass for the first decades of my life. lol Karma is very impersonal. All of reality is impersonal, really. Wait a minute, that can’t be right. Right? I suppose there are millions if not billions of folks that have a bone to pick with their karma. Perhaps so. But the mechanisms…

What you focus on … expands Where are you putting your attention? There is a thing about gratitude that can have an effect on your future. When you are grateful for something that is already in your life, you are putting your attention on what you are grateful for. By putting your attention on what has already been created, even though it is already here, it primes your future for more of the same. It is like you are ordering more of that thing. Likewise, when you are putting your attention on what you don’t want and having it elicit an emotional response, you are solidifying it in your future. It might seem that you are just and worthy to have a vile hatred of something that is horrible. Certainly this planet has plenty of horrific things happening on it. But what the hell? There is a recorder of sorts,…

Taking the Soul Perspective There are no mistakes Did you read the fine print? Before you chose to incarnate into this lifetime of yours, did you read the fine print? It can seem like a karmic tsunami gone bad. I mean, there is talk of another world war. There is so much suffering and division. And the karma, so you think, you can metaphorically cut with a knife. What went “wrong?” There is “no” wrong. The thing is, is that Source Consciousness/Prime Creator/God chose to create the realm of duality. To explore. To explore infinite potential. Infinite. Without end. We are never stuck. Not on the Divine scale of time. All things will resolve. All of creation will, eventually, return to Source. Our ego can easily become consumed by the vast amounts of information that we sort through as we go about our day. And the BS that we bump…

The Comfort or the Chaos Which do You prefer? It can seem like a good idea, the notion of comfort, that is. I mean, there is a bit of a karmic tsunami going on. Indeed, comfort, or perhaps taking the time to rest and ground yourself, can be very beneficial for you. Is that the ticket for getting through all this collective chaos? There are always pluses and minuses to everything. I mean, to talk about a plus, Heaven itself! In the beginning was the Light! Heaven right there. Before creation got started, well, it was already Heaven. The Light of Unconditional Love. Perfect … right? Well, Heaven, in and of itself, can’t give you the experience of being in form. Being in a body. Incarnation into human form for all the experiences it can offer you. There are no villains in heaven. And there are no heroes too. Heaven is…

Spend it all, then spend some more Love It! If you were to imagine “building” your dream life, I could ask you “what’s your budget?” I mean, we need to live within our means … right? But wait … what if there were a currency that E-X-P-A-N-D-E-D as you spent it? Where the more you spent, the more of it you had? What then? Introducing “LOVE.” Love is the most curious thing. Not only is it the fabric of all that is, but there is always more of it to be had. Love, at first, is not for rookies. Well, yes it is. But what I mean is, if you have held BIG Love at bay your whole life, Love can be quite an intense experience. I remember moments with Love, that brought me to my knees. Overwhelmed by the massive and intense expansion I was feeling in the moment.…

Which “where” are you going to? Where ARE you going? Is your hand on the wheel? A metaphor for driving your car. Is your hand on the wheel of your life? Are you intentionally choosing where you intend to go with your life? Or, are you enjoying just floating along? Which can have wonderful relaxation effects. There is no right or wrong to your choices. Sure, there might be karma as consequences to your choices. If you choose to go … into the military, you might not last long if a war breaks out. But to have an intention, an intended destination or outcome, is a very powerful thing to do for yourself. But even then, there can be some wiggle room. There is nothing wrong with having a very specific intention. “I want to get my Doctorate in Astrophysics at MIT.” Perfect! “I want to understand Astrophysics as best…

As You Are The Life that You are Living So, what are you experiencing? What do your days feel like? What is your overall mental demeanor? What is your overall emotional demeanor? These demeanors determine the core of your daily experiences. Well, that and some other things. Can you offend a mirror? Can you overwhelm a mirror? I am not talking about physically, but rather, just with an image. Stand in front of a mirror, and try to startle it. Maybe take it outside on a clear night, and look at the reflection of the night sky. Now that is a BIG image. The mirror isn’t even trying hard. It does all it does with ease. Without bias or preferences. With no agenda of its own. Impersonal and indifferent. Every reflected image has the same merit. No image has a status above another. Quantum Cornflakes. Quantum Doughnuts. Quantum Nuclear Kaboomies.…

Looking through Your Karmic Lens What do You see? I was thinking the other day about the spiritual journey itself. A journey, that if you are reading this blog, you are most likely on. To grow or evolve our spirituality. There are hundreds of “modalities” or “processes” that so many spiritual teachers provide. Somatic work, Emotional work, Mental work, and the like. These topics of focus are relevant because that is what we bump up against when we want to make some progress on our journey. They are part of the journey. But after working on ourselves for a while, maybe a long while, maybe many lifetimes, we come to the part of the journey about Love. On the last mile of the journey you might say Unconditional Love is the “finish line.” Not that our journey just stops there. But once we have learned how to embody Unconditional Love,…

The Villain makes the Hero Had we never left heaven … Was it a mistake to leave Heaven? I mean, really? God, as Unconditional Love, is Heaven itself. In other words, many of us are on a spiritual journey to return to Heaven. But, why did we even leave Heaven in the first place? In the beginning was the Light. The Light of Heaven. The Light of Love. OK. Perfect. Stop right there. Heaven as the vast field of Unconditional Love sounds like, well, it sounds like Heaven to me. Heaven is what we metaphorically left. God, as Consciousness/Love, wanted to know more about its potentials. Wanted to know what it would feel like to have a dualistic experience. Wanted to know what it could be. And it entered duality. The beginning of creation itself. Fast forward billions and billions of years, and here we are. God Consciousness personified as…
